Robert Bosch AG
Organisation Introduction
Robert Bosch AG in Austria is part of the Bosch Group’s international network of competence centers for the development of future-oriented mobility technologies. Nearly half of the company’s 3,300 associates in Austria work in engineering, contributing to innovative solutions for the automotive sector. Bosch’s development activities focus in particular on connected mobility, artificial intelligence and advanced vehicle technologies that support the transition towards safer, smarter and more sustainable transport. With its strong engineering capabilities, customer relations and close integration into global development structures, Bosch Austria makes a significant contribution to the advancement of next-generation mobility solutions.
Why BELOGIC?
As a global leader in mobility solutions and driver of sustainable transport solutions, Bosch’s participation in the BELOGIC project is a strategic imperative. It directly reflects our corporate commitment to advancing climate-neutral technologies and supporting the European Union’s decarbonization objectives for the heavy-duty transport sector.
The BELOGIC initiative provides an essential framework for Bosch to apply its extensive expertise in automotive systems and digital services to solve real-world challenges in electric logistics – i.e. provide a reliable energy consumption modelling and integrated charging optimization for time, energy and cost.
Our involvement is centered on developing the critical digital infrastructure necessary to make long-haul e-mobility both operationally efficient and commercially viable. By leading efforts in areas such as energy consumption modeling and data harmonization in line with COVESA standards, we aim to overcome key technical barriers to adoption.
Through this collaboration, Bosch seeks to contribute to a standardized, interoperable, and scalable ecosystem for electric transport. We view the BELOGIC project as a vital opportunity to work with esteemed partners to accelerate innovation and solidify Europe’s leadership in sustainable logistics technology.
Involvement in BELOGIC?
Bosch’s primary role in the BELOGIC project is to provide and enhance digital tools for the electrification of long-haul logistics. Bosch will contribute its expertise in energy consumption prediction for electric trucks, which considers all common truck and trailer types, battery conditions and charging characteristics as well as factors like topography, weather, traffic to provide reliable range forecasts. This precise modelling gives logistics operators the certainty they need to plan routes and optimize energy use, battery size, and charging strategies effectively.
Furthermore, Bosch drives data harmonization by aligning vehicle data with COVESA standards. Establishing this semantic data pipeline ensures seamless integration across systems, building the interoperable digital infrastructure necessary for sustainable, long-haul logistics.

“Through BELOGIC, we are actively shaping the digital ecosystem for electric heavy-duty vehicles, turning advanced innovation into practical tools for efficient long-haul electric transport.”
