Bosch Group

Organisation Introduction

The Bosch Group is a leading global supplier of technology and services. Its activities span Mobility, Industrial Technology, Consumer Goods, and Energy and Building Technology.

As the largest Bosch company in Austria, Robert Bosch AG connects close customer relationships and strong engineering capabilities with the Group’s global research, development, and production network. Nearly half of its associates work in engineering, with mobility activities focusing on automated solutions, artificial intelligence, efficient powertrain technologies, and innovative systems for safer, smarter, and more sustainable transport.

Why BELOGIC?

Bosch participates in BELOGIC to accelerate the transition towards climate-neutral, commercially viable long-haul logistics and to support Europe’s decarbonisation objectives. The project closely aligns with Bosch’s ambition to combine deep automotive and energy-system expertise with digital platforms and services that enable connected, efficient, and scalable mobility ecosystems.

BELOGIC provides a unique international framework for Bosch to address key barriers to battery-electric freight transport in real-world, multi-partner settings. Robert Bosch AG in Austria contributes advanced capabilities in energy-consumption and range modelling, charging optimisation, automotive data, and semantic harmonisation based on standards such as COVESA. These strengths are complemented by the expertise of Bosch Mobility Platform & Solutions in cloud-based platforms, real-time data exchange, service orchestration, and the integration of digital tools into fleet and transport management environments.

Through BELOGIC, Bosch aims to validate interoperable and modular solutions that reduce operational uncertainty, optimise time, energy, and cost, and avoid vendor lock-in. Collaboration with logistics operators, vehicle manufacturers, research organisations, and software providers enables the co-creation of practical solutions and scalable business models. The project therefore strengthens Bosch’s role as a technology and ecosystem partner while helping accelerate the market uptake of reliable, sustainable heavy-duty e-mobility across Europe.

Involvement in BELOGIC?

Bosch’s primary role in the BELOGIC project is to provide and enhance digital tools for the electrification of long-haul logistics. Contributing Bosch’s expertise in energy consumption prediction for electric trucks, Robert Bosch AG also drives data harmonization by aligning vehicle data with COVESA standards. Establishing this semantic data pipeline ensures seamless integration across systems, building the interoperable digital infrastructure necessary for sustainable, long-haul logistics. In addition, Bosch Mobility Platform & Solutions integrates digital tools for logistics and mobility operations and is also responsible for developing a framework that enables seamless integration of data and services into TMS and FMS systems.
