ALICE
Alliance for Logistics Innovation through Collaboration in Europe
Organisation Introduction
ALICE is the association of leading logistics innovation companies.
ALICE gathers over 218 members and over 700 experts from companies, research organizations, logistics clusters, associations and public bodies across Europe. We connect all key logistics stakeholders to develop innovations for zero-emission, automated, efficient, agile, resilient and circular supply chains inspired by the Physical Internet.
Members engage in thematic groups, contribute and participate in EU projects, and co-develop strategic roadmaps. There are five (5) thematic groups:
- Efficient and Low Emissions Assets and Energy
- Corridors, hubs and Synchro modality
- Systems and Technologies for Interconnected Logistics
- Supply Network Coordination and Collaboration
- Urban Logistics
Why BELOGIC?
The BELOGIC project is aligned with the ALICE Roadmap towards Zero Emissions Logistics 2050, which highlights that achieving climate targets requires a systemic transformation of logistics and strong collaboration among stakeholders. Managing freight demand growth through innovative strategies is essential, including supply chain restructuring and system-level innovation, as technology alone is not sufficient. We believe that the representativeness of logistics clusters is crucial and that they should be involved from the earliest stages of development, while ensuring strong connections with research and policymakers.
BELOGIC is highly relevant in this context, as it combines innovative logistics models, digital tools, and real-world demonstrations to enable the large-scale deployment of battery-electric trucks. Moreover, building on experience from projects on long-haul heavy duty trucks electrification, such as ZEFES, FLEXMCS, and MACBETH, it highlights the distinct nature of BEV logistics planning, driven by energy and charging requirements, which implies organizational and operational changes for logistics actors. By linking shippers, logistics service providers, and technology actors, ALICE ensures that the new logistics models for battery electric vehicles (BEV) are aligned with real operational and market needs.
Involvement in BELOGIC?
ALICE contributes to defining a classification of logistics mission profiles for electrification, analyzing stakeholder needs for battery electric vehicle (BEV) operations, identifying key barriers, enablers, and digital tool requirements. It supports the development of innovative and scalable logistics models for BEV deployment through co-creation activities. ALICE actively engages stakeholders by organizing workshops and expanding industry networks to ensure alignment with real operational needs. Additionally, it contributes to dissemination and exploitation by supporting the identification of exploitable results, mapping their pathways to market, and guiding partners in developing strategies to maximize the impact of project outcomes.

“The BELOGIC project is fully aligned with our vision to accelerate the adoption of zero-emission logistics in Europe by developing innovative logistics model for BEV operation integrating planning, flow of data, tools interoperability, and cost competitiveness.”
